themorikelifeI found a fun little ask game on Tumblr, and I decided to share a little something (or a lot of somethings) about myself here using that ask game. If you're curious, please read on! moon ⇢ do you suppress your feelings?
I try not to. I feel a lot of things all the time but whether I express them is a different story. And I don't think a lack of expression is suppression.
mercury ⇢ are you a talkative person?
Not really. I like to listen to people talk and will contribute when I have something to say. My natural state is to listen.
venus ⇢ describe your ideal type
Type for what??
This is a joke. This question is probably asking about romantic type, like who I'm attracted to. It's funny because I'm ace.
mars ⇢ are you the type to approach others first or do you like others to do that instead?
I like others to approach me first, in both digital and online spaces. IRL, I never know what to say when making the first approach. In the digital sphere, I can edit my approach before sending, which is a luxury not afforded in meatspace.
jupiter ⇢ do you consider yourself a lucky or unlucky person?
I'm pretty lucky, for sure.
saturn ⇢ what are the things you consider you struggle the most?
My family says that I'm really stubborn but I feel like they don't always listen to my point of view because my friends find me extremely chill about everything. So it's a constant struggle between "Am I really stubborn or am I just not being heard?"
uranus ⇢ what things do you think should change in society?
I think government exists to provide for the people, and we're constantly failed by it with a lack of universal healthcare and affordable wages. So I want those things and a bunch more others to be institutionalized (even though that means a lot of bureaucracy).

Intuition! A lot of my big life decisions are made based on feeling. The logistics will work itself out.

Two nights before my dad's funeral, he interrupted my dream to tell me he loved me. I hope he did the same to my brothers too.

No? I believe love is a choice. There's a lot of feelings involved with love, but you are ultimately choosing to live with and work alongside someone when you're in love. Someday, I will work to write a story that so encapsulates all the emotion that goes into making that choice.

Yes. I had a very good childhood.
descendant ⇢ what kind of people do you usually attract?
Nerdy and/or interesting people. If you lived a life far from what's considered "normal" then I want to be friends. The people I want to keep in my life are also kind.

This is a hard question because I don't really care or actively seek to sus out what other people think about me. If you like me, you'll talk to me. If you compliment me, I'll blush. I would like to be a source of kindness to my neighbors and friends. I am usually happiest when people tell me that I surprised them somehow. It makes me feel like knowing the real me is a gift, even when I am not actively hiding who I am.

"Spontaneous" is a better descriptor for me.

Breakfast foods. I started writing out a whole list of things I like but then I got to breakfast and nothing tops breakfast. Give me your omelettes and your pancakes. Give me your eggs over easy and your crispy bacon and toast. Just keep your breakfast potatoes because that's not a taste I like before lunch.

My little brother I get along with just fine. My older brother estranged himself years ago and I'm still figuring out how to tell him that I think he's in an abusive relationship (hard to do that when he doesn't answer any texts, so the strategy is to get Mom on board with this theory).

I do! If I'm still alone at the age of forty, I want to adopt a child. In my (very slow, very sporadic) search for a partner, I'm also looking for people who want to have at least one child.

I feel wanted when I'm given attention, which is always nice. In a strange place or situation, I prefer to go unnoticed.

I would like to be a perfectionist but I have recently learned the freedom that comes with the philosophy "done is better than perfect."

Yeah, I would! We'll see if the US government will allow that tho . . .

Depends on the topic, the context, and the situation. If I know I'm in a safe space, then yes, I can talk about taboo things. If I'm in a place where I think my opinions might harm me later on, then I prefer to move the conversation to something else.

There are so many! Singapore, Morocco, Kenya, Brazil, Argentina, and Antarctica are all on my bucket list! I'd also like to return to Sweden and New Zealand sometime in my life. And Scotland. Portugal seems nice too.

I really like my current job. I work at a digital agency on the marketing side, and I do a lot of creative marketing and project management. It's really fun! I've been there less than a year at this point, and I'm getting used to the idea that I can jibe at my boss and not face any repercussions.

Social, but introverted. As I type these answers, I was at a work function last night and when I got home I spent an hour knitting by myself because I was emotionally tired. But I had a great time with my colleagues and got the number for an old co-worker's girlfriend!
pisces ⇢ what kind of art are you good at? (painting, dancing, singing, etc.)
Writing and singing!
1H ⇢ describe your style
Floral and geeky. Take a floral pattern your grandmother would wear and update it for the modern age, that's my fashion sense for the most part. When I can, I also like to look punk, but it's harder to find a silhouette I like on me with those types of clothes.
2H ⇢ do you have any object that you like a little too much? what is it and why?
I'm not sure what this question means by liking something "a little too much." Is it asking for my favorite object? I'd say either my cast iron pan or my car, but I try to take good care of those so they last a long time.
3H ⇢ what are some of the topics you like to talk about the most?
Fandom culture in general and the recent exploits of my niece (aged 1). Also astronomy and linguistics.
4H ⇢ which relatives are you the closest with?
My mom. She and dad were married for 50 years and I can tell she really wanted that number to be higher. So now she's alone for the first time in her life and I've been alone for most of my adult life, and it's weird to show her the ropes of that a bit. (I had to teach her how to use a drive-thru car wash this year, which was a mildly surreal experience.)
5H ⇢ do you have a hobby? which one(s)?
Fanfiction! ^_^ I also like knitting and music, though I need to actually pick up the guitar one of these days.
6H ⇢ do you consider yourself a workaholic?
Absolutely not. My boss asked me to study marketing things on my own time to get better and I privately balked.
7H ⇢ what do you consider green flags in a relationship?
It's hard to describe, but a subtle attentiveness to me. I don't have a forceful presence irl so if someone notices that I tried talking a couple times in a conversation and kept getting interrupted and makes a space for me to speak, that's a green flag for sure.
8H ⇢ what do you consider red flags in a relationship?
I expect some type of reciprocity in all relationships. So if I notice that I'm the only one trying to make plans or start a conversation, then that relationship is going to feel very one-sided to me. And then I'm not going to want to continue with it.
9H ⇢ what languages would you like to learn?
I've already studied French (at school) and Japanese (on my own) and studying those some more would be fun.
10H ⇢ how do you want people to remember you?
I would like my stories to live on after I'm gone. I hope that my words affect people positively. I hope my niblings and children remember me as someone who did no harm and threw back the shit delt to her. And I hope they know that they can do the same. I hope that people laugh when they retell my favorite jokes. I hope I am simply missed.
